Experienced paralegal with JD and background as an attorney and professional support staff. With a range of experience from sitting first chair to confidently e-filing, I currently offer virtual paralegal services that are fully scalable to your needs. Focus and background in employment, civil rights and personal injury. My mission is to support attorneys in their noble profession, easing a little the weight that I know comes with it.

This presentation will focus on an intake call the person can't stop talking about something totally irrelevant. You've sent the client a simple medical authorization and they won't send it back. Depositions are coming up and suddenly the client's questioning whether they should continue with the case. This behavior may be hard to understand and can impact the case and your work. Yet it originates in trauma, either caused or aggravated by the events that brought them to an attorney.

Compassionate and trauma-informed paralegal work can make or break the case. Kristen will provide an expert-reviewed overview of how trauma impacts individuals in these situations. Then, drawing on best practices and her own experience, she will offer specific guidance on how paralegals can empower clients facing these challenges.
